The CAI are pleased to announce that Strokestown Croquet Club, County Roscommon has recently affiliated to add to the growing number of clubs in Ireland. We wish them every success in establishing themselves as a club and look forward to supporting them in the future. An afternoon of period croquet in period dress was enjoyed by guests at Adare Manor last weekend. We hope this will become a regular occurrence.

The 2012 South Leinster Open Championship was played on 14/15th July on the lawns in Newcastle, Co. Dublin. Andrew Johnston had a narrow win over Danny Johnston in the final, while Nathaniel Healy won the third place playoff, narrowly beating Kieran Murphy. Full report by Kieran.

The entry form for the Golf Championships of Ireland on 15-16th September 2012 is now available for download. Entries are welcome from local and overseas players and should be sent by email before 10th September.

Mark won their invitational tournament last month, and placed first in their recent "USA vs Ireland" Challenge. Patsy Fitzgerald and Ed Cunningham were also invited to play. Although not an official international match, I am pleased to report that "Ireland" won by 5 matches to 4.
