Herbert Park Croquet Club are having a fundraising AC competition on the 1st November to raise moneys to maintain their lawns. First prize is a valuable Toro lawnmower.

Jack Clingan is the new Golf Croquet Champion. He beat the defending champion, Simon Williams,5/7. 7/5, 7/5 in a fairly tame final at Carrickmines on the 12th/13th of September. Carrickmines looked its best in the bright sunshine, and the comfortable clubhouse was most appreciated during the sometimes heavy rain. Members of Strokestown Croquet Club visited Carrickmines to compete in the Irish Open Golf Championships. Click here is their report of the visit and an update of activities at their home base.

GB hosted Ireland in the annual test match for the Maugham salver in Hamptworth Golf and County club on the 5-6th of September 2015. A very strong GB team were once again favourites against an Irish team of mixed form and inferior world ranking. The previous month's rain had slowed down the courts from their normal quick pace, but the promise of sunshine over the weekend gave us hope of challenging conditions in the picturesque club near Salisbury and the New Forest. A four strong Irish team travelled to face the USA in Nantucket between the 19th and 23rd of August. The team comprised Danny Johnston (C), Patsy Fitzgerald, Evan Newell and Nathaniel Healy and faced a strong American team including former MacRobertson Shield players Jeff Soo and Rich Lamm and previous Carter cup members Dave Bent and Wayne Davies.
That match was played in idyllic surroundings of the Westmoor Club thanks to the Trojan work of club pro Wayne Davies in organising and coordinating. Photos by Danny (Irl Capt.)
